PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

Portrait photography spans many more specific styles of shoot, including but not limited to:

  • Headshots
  • Brand Photography
  • Lifestyle Photography
  • Boudoir Photography
  • Etc.

The options are limitless! Below, I'll detail my three most common types of portrait photography shoots and their uses.

Headshots

Represent yourself professionally with current headshots for your website, blog, email, social media, etc.

Professional

Brand

Show people what you and your business are all about. These portraits are tailored for professional use, intended for your website, in promotions, and across social media.

Professional

Lifestyle

Lifestyle portraits are a more casual and personal combination of headshots and brand. This is about showcasing who you are as a person, your style, and even interests.

Personal

Headshots

Represent yourself professionally with current headshots for your website, blog, email, social media, etc.

For: website, blogs, email profile, social media (LinkedIn), etc.

Brand

Show people what you and your business are all about. These portraits are tailored for professional use, showcasing you at work.

For: website, marketing promotions, across social media, etc.

Lifestyle

Lifestyle portraits are a more casual and personal combination of headshots and brand. This is about showcasing who you are as a person, your style, and even interests. The shots are more candid and playful than the other two categories, giving you a chance to let your personality shine.

For: dating apps, blogs, social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), email profile, and website (depending on profession)

HEADSHOTS

Headshots are the simplest way to update your image and have something professional on hand when you need it. They should be updated every 2 years at minimum, or every time you change your appearance.

Lifestyle Photography

Lifestyle photos are photos that show your personality and interests. Today's professional is increasingly leaning away from stuffy headshots (although there is certainly a time and place for those) and more towards showcasing your personal brand: who you are at your core.

These types of photos can be used across multiple platforms: online dating sites and apps, updating your email photo, updating your phone contact, and across social media apps like LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

When it comes to online dating, we know that better quality photos equals higher quality matches, so why not invest in yourself?
